Ceremonies At Osmaston Park
We are licensed for legal ceremonies and have ample space for you to make the most of your time at the venue and hold a ceremony on site, with the option of holding a civil wedding, religious ceremony, or informal blessing celebration.
Osmaston village also has available the beautiful St Martin’s Church, which is rich in history and only a very short but very scenic drive away from the venue.
The Details
We charge an additional £300 (inc VAT) if you wish to hold a civil ceremony at the venue, and this cost covers:
• A member of staff to be present for the duration of the ceremony as well as for some time before and after (this is a legal requirement by the registrars)
• The staff time for your ceremony chairs to be set up in your chosen area*
• The printing and displaying of your wedding notice in the Estate (legally required)
* the chair hire cost is not included in this fee, and this price will vary depending on the style and total number of chairs
The council charge their own fee for a civil ceremony, and details about the registrar costs can be found here on the Derbyshire County Council website.
The Booking Process
1. The Venue: once you have decided you’d like to book us as your venue, choose your date and then put it on a two-week hold
2. The Registrars: contact Ashbourne Registry Office to find out if they have a registrar available on that date. If yes, you will pay a £150 non-refundable deposit to secure the date and confirm the booking with them.
3. Once the registrar is confirmed, you can come back to us to proceed with the booking process for the venue. If your original date isn’t available with the registrars, then we can revisit the calendar to find an alternative date if necessary.
Standard civil ceremony times offered are 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm.
Animals are permitted but only when on a lead and supervised by an adult.
No food or drink can be consumed in the ceremony area before or during the service.
If you have set up a religious ceremony area for the same day, the civil ceremony must take place in a separate area.
- Readings and wording can be flexible but no religious content will be allowed.
